Meta has begun rolling out a new artificial intelligence tool called Muse Image, allowing users to create and edit images directly within their apps. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The service is already integrated into the Meta AI chatbot and is gradually becoming available to users, Reuters reports.

With Muse Image, users can create pictures from text descriptions, use their own photos as a base, and then modify the result with sketches or text annotations.

The new model will become the basis for more than 30 AI effects in Instagram Stories. Additionally, users will be able to generate images directly in conversations with Meta AI on WhatsApp. Currently, the feature is only available in select countries, but the company promises to launch it on Facebook and Messenger later.

According to Meta's internal tests, the model outperforms Google Nano Banana 2 in editing tasks but still lags behind OpenAI's GPT Image 2. In the future, the company plans to abandon third-party neural networks in favor of its own developments and also release the Muse Video model.

Basic features of Muse Image will be free. However, advanced image creation functions will be included in Meta's paid subscriptions.

Previously, Kursiv reported that the new ChatGPT has become better at understanding medicine, finance, and law. And yesterday, Apple introduced a new Siri AI with Google technologies, which is already being called a ChatGPT killer.
