German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said he is trying to convince the German people of the need to continue helping Kyiv until the conflict ends. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
“We will continue to provide assistance to Ukraine until this war is over. I explain this to the German people and say that it is important to continue support. Because we are doing this in the interests of our country, Europe, for stability,” Merz said at a press conference together with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky.
Speaking about what further assistance Germany could provide to Kyiv, Merz noted that “a lot is already being done.” The chancellor also emphasized that Germany is the country contributing the most to supporting Ukraine.
