US President Donald Trump told world leaders at the G7 summit in Évian-les-Bains, France: “I’m the boss here.” The remark came amid discussions of key global crises and future decisions on Ukraine, Iran, and the global economy. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Media note that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his allies came to the G7 summit hoping to convince Trump that “Russia is not in a position to dictate the terms of a peace agreement now.”

G7 leaders confirmed increased support for Ukraine in the summit’s final statement. The joint declaration expresses readiness to continue aid to Kyiv. The document also states that G7 countries intend to intensify pressure on the Russian economy, including through expanded sanctions in the oil and gas sector.

French President Emmanuel Macron called this a “real change of approach” by the United States.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni noted that participants managed to find common ground with Trump, while Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney described it as a “shift in Washington’s position.”

A preliminary agreement between the US and Iran was also discussed. G7 leaders expressed readiness to facilitate its implementation, but Washington took no concrete commitments.

Trump stressed that the agreement is not final and hinted at resuming strikes if conditions are not met.

“If they don’t behave properly, we will go back to bombing,” he said.

Separately, leaders agreed to strengthen coordination to reduce dependence on China for supplies of critical minerals. Plans include synchronizing reserves and creating a new platform with the participation of the International Energy Agency.

Also discussed was the development of artificial intelligence, including regulation of AI systems and technology accountability. Representatives of major IT companies, including OpenAI and Anthropic, took part in the discussion.

Earlier, it became known that the US and Iran are discussing the creation of a $300 billion investment fund as part of a peace agreement project. Additionally, according to the draft document, Iran commits not to produce or acquire nuclear weapons.
