Ahead of the new school year, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has strengthened measures to ensure children's safety. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the ministry, there are currently 7,656 general education schools in Kazakhstan equipped with more than 283,000 video surveillance cameras. Of these, 7,159 schools are connected to operational management centers or duty stations of internal affairs bodies. This system not only records incidents but also ensures rapid response to emerging threats.
Much attention is also paid to children's road safety. The Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted 9,417 inspections of road infrastructure near educational institutions. To eliminate identified deficiencies, 4,070 orders were issued. According to the department, to date, 3,440 responses have been received regarding the elimination of these deficiencies.
For failure to comply or improper compliance with legal requirements of state supervisory authorities, eleven protocols were drawn up under Article 462 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Administrative Offenses.
In addition, 258 pedestrian crossings, 1,429 speed bumps, 4,854 road signs, more than 10 kilometers of fencing, and 1,897 street lights were installed and equipped near schools.
The ministry's statement emphasizes that all these measures are aimed at one goal: children must safely get to school and return home.
However, ensuring children's safety cannot be achieved by police alone. Law enforcement officers are confident that the joint work of parents, teachers, government agencies, and the entire community is extremely important.
