Minister of Education Zuldyz Suleimenova announced the subjects and mandatory courses to be introduced in schools in the new academic year. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Today, along with education, it is important to raise citizens who obey the law, value labor, and feel responsibility before the state and society.

"Starting from the new academic year, the content of education will be supplemented with a number of new mandatory courses," Suleimenova said at today's government meeting.

Grades 5–7: subject "Fundamentals of the Constitution"; Grades 8–11: mandatory course "Law and Order"; Grades 5–11: mandatory course "Personal Safety".

And from the next academic year, the subject "Geography of Kazakhstan" will be reintroduced in grades 8–9.

"Previously, as an elective subject, 'Fundamentals of Law' will now become mandatory for all students and will be taught in content fully consistent with the principles of the new Constitution," the minister concluded.

It is worth noting that today a new Constitution came into force in Kazakhstan.
