The Ministry of Education has explained the requirements for mandatory school uniforms. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Today, school uniforms for boys and girls are divided into daily, festive and sports. When choosing it, the age characteristics of students, climatic conditions, the place of classes, the temperature regime in the school building and safety requirements are taken into account.
Religion is separate from the state
In accordance with the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, religion is separate from the state, and the system of education and upbringing in educational organizations is secular in nature. The style of the school uniform is determined by the educational organization with the participation of the board of trustees, the parent committee and school self-government bodies. It is approved by the protocol of the general school parent meeting.
"Changes made to the school uniform are also adopted in agreement with the mentioned councils," says Vice Minister of Education Shynar Akparova.
Freedom of choice for parents
According to her, parents can buy school uniforms in any retail chain and freely choose the manufacturer. The school is not allowed to give preference to individual manufacturers.
Social support
And for children from socially vulnerable families, state support is provided within the framework of the universal education fund for the purchase of school uniforms, shoes and school supplies. On the eve of the 2026-2027 academic year, it is planned to cover about 450 thousand children with such support. About 23 billion tenge has been allocated from local budgets for this purpose.
Safety requirements
According to safety requirements, school uniforms must not contain fittings and accessories that could cause injury. Also, according to the rules established in the charters of educational organizations, it is not allowed to walk inside the school building wearing a headdress.
According to the law, parents are obliged to comply with the rules established in the charter of the educational organization and the requirements for mandatory school uniforms.
