The National Center for Public Health (NCPH) has reminded parents that before the start of the school year, children must receive all vaccinations according to their age. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
What vaccinations are needed for six-year-olds?
According to NCPH specialists, in accordance with the National Preventive Vaccination Calendar, at age 6, children are vaccinated against:
- 01measles, rubella, and epidemic parotitis (mumps);
- 02whooping cough, diphtheria, and tetanus.
If any vaccination was missed or postponed, parents are advised to contact the polyclinic at their place of attachment. In most cases, there is no need to restart the course — the doctor will determine the further schedule taking into account the doses already received. Completing the vaccination course is important for full protection against infections.
Recommendations for parents
Before the start of the school year, parents are asked to check the child's vaccination passport or clarify vaccination data at the polyclinic. This will help ensure the child is ready for school.
