A fire alarm went off at the Mega Alma-Ata shopping and entertainment center in Almaty on August 22, after which visitors began to be evacuated. Firefighters arrived at the shopping center. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The city's emergency department said the elevated call rank was not confirmed. No open burning was found at the scene.
"No open burning was detected. Why the automatic fire alarm went off will be determined by specialists," the press service of the Emergency Situations Department commented.
The Instagram account of Mega Alma-Ata also reported that there is no threat to people's life and health, and the shopping center itself continues to operate.
"Dear visitors! The fire alarm went off at Mega Alma-Ata. The situation is under control, all systems are operating normally. The shopping center continues to operate. There is no threat to the life and health of visitors. We are currently conducting an inspection and finding out the circumstances of what happened. Thank you for your understanding," the shopping center's message said.
The reasons for the alarm are being determined.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that Mega Alma-Ata became the focus of social media users' attention after a video appeared of about ten people in Spider-Man costumes on the escalator of the shopping center. In a day, the video gained more than 54 thousand views.
