Construction of engineering infrastructure continues on the section from Medeu to the Shymbulak ski resort in Almaty. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The work is carried out by order of the Almaty Department of Energy and Water Supply. The project aims to improve the reliability of utility systems and develop tourism infrastructure.

The project plans to build 5.7 km of medium-pressure gas pipeline and 2.7 km of sewerage networks. This will provide engineering infrastructure for facilities along the Medeu-Shymbulak route, including the ski resort area.

The contractor has already started construction and installation works. Installation of the first sections of the gas pipeline, construction of sewerage networks, and installation of reinforced concrete wells are underway.

The construction of engineering networks is planned to be completed by the end of November 2026.

The akimat noted that all work is carried out in accordance with project documentation, construction standards, and environmental requirements. Special attention is paid to preserving the natural landscape and minimizing environmental impact.

During construction and installation works, temporary traffic restrictions and operation of specialized equipment are possible on certain sections. Residents and guests of Almaty are asked to take this into account when planning trips.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that from June 16, the parking lot near the Medeu high-mountain sports complex will be closed.
