Theologian and expert Medet Kurmashuly explained what exactly men and women are obligated to do after entering into marriage, as well as how Islam views the institution of the family in Kazakhstan. He clarified who has which roles and who owes what to whom. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to the expert, in Islamic tradition, the role of a man after concluding a marriage union is determined not by advantage or privileges, but primarily by high responsibility. He acts as the main pillar of material and spiritual stability. He is obligated to show patience, respect and care even in moments of emerging family disagreements.

In turn, a woman after marriage becomes the guardian of the home and the moral climate in the house. Her key duties are aimed at strengthening the union and supporting her spouse.

"A woman contributes to creating family warmth, provides moral support to her husband and strengthens mutual love. Caring for household affairs and the daily needs of the family is also one of the important duties in a traditional Muslim family," the expert explained.

Speaking about Islam's view of the Kazakh family, Medet Kurmashuly emphasized that religious prescriptions fully harmonize with the traditional culture and spirit of the Kazakh people.

Honoring elders, respecting parents, protecting children and strengthening kinship ties have been fundamental values of Kazakh society for centuries.

The Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan (DUMK) approved the official calendar of religious dates and holidays for 2027. According to the schedule, the holy month of Ramadan will begin on February 8.
