FRANCE – MOROCCO 2:0 (0:0). Goals: Mbappé 60 (1:0), Dembélé 66 (2:0). Missed penalty: Mbappé 28 (goalkeeper saved).

France eliminated Morocco from the World Cup playoffs for the second consecutive time. At the 2022 World Cup, the teams met in the semifinals, and the French also won 2-0. Didier Deschamps' men once again stopped the Moroccans and advanced to the tournament semifinals.

The first half was cautious, but France created more chances. Early in the match, Kylian Mbappé shot from outside the box, then Dayot Upamecano headed dangerously from a corner – in both instances, Yassine Bounou saved Morocco.

The key moment before the break came in the 25th minute. Morocco lost the ball while attacking, Mbappé received a pass near the box and prepared to shoot, but Noussair Mazraoui fouled him with a slide tackle. Argentine referee Facundo Tello awarded a penalty. Mbappé himself stepped up but shot weakly, and Bounou saved.

After that, France continued to press. Désiré Doué shot low to the near post, but Bounou again reacted quickly to save. In stoppage time, Lucas Digne fired from outside the box and hit the crossbar. Morocco responded with a dangerous free kick from Achraf Hakimi, but the ball went just wide.

After the break, Morocco tried to counterattack faster. In one instance, Brahim Díaz received the ball in France's box and crossed into the six-yard area, but Jules Koundé managed to intercept.

In the 60th minute, France finally opened the scoring. Adrien Rabiot stopped a Moroccan attack in midfield, then Doué found Mbappé with a pass. The forward received the ball near the edge of the box and curled it into the far corner. Mbappé thus redeemed himself for the missed penalty and put France ahead.

Six minutes later, Deschamps' team scored a second goal. Ousmane Dembélé found space in the center, dribbled to the box, and shot low near the post. Bounou could not save Morocco, and the score became 2-0.

After the second goal, Morocco made several substitutions. Sofyan Amrabat, Soufiane Rahimi, Jessim Yassin, and Zakaria El-Ouahdi came on, but Mohamed Ouhbi's team could not change the course of the match. France played more calmly, controlled the lead, and did not allow the opponent to come back.

France continues its quest for the title. In the semifinals, they will face the winner of the Spain – Belgium match.
