Forest guards and units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) are extinguishing a natural fire in Markakol forestry. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The fire occurred in a hard-to-reach area, making extinguishing operations difficult. According to the MES press service, about 85 employees of forest guards and MES, 10 units of equipment, employees of Kazavialesookhrana, as well as two helicopters of Kazaviaspas JSC of MES have been involved in extinguishing the fire.
Additionally, another helicopter, involved under the aviation forest protection program, is used to deliver personnel and monitor the situation. The ministry says the situation is under control.
Firefighting operations are ongoing. MES employees are taking all necessary measures to prevent the spread of the fire.
