Specialists at the Markakol State Nature Reserve encountered a brown bear during field research. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Bear spotted during bird census

The animal was noticed during the next round of bird census work. The specialists observed the bear from a safe distance and did not interfere with its behavior.

The ministry noted that such encounters are recorded as part of wildlife observations and studies of the state of the reserve's natural ecosystems.

Camera trap had previously recorded a bear

Earlier, Kursiv wrote that a camera trap in the Markakol Reserve had already recorded a brown bear wading across a small stream. Such cameras allow observation of animals in their natural environment without direct contact with humans.

Bear activity in the area

Bears in this area had shown activity earlier as well: predators were spotted on country roads between the villages of Akzhailau and Urunkhaika, after which local residents were asked to exercise caution.

The Markakol State Nature Reserve is an area where research on natural ecosystems and wildlife observations are carried out. According to specialists, such field work makes it possible to collect data on the distribution and behavior of animals in the reserve.

The brown bear is one of the large predators in the region. Its appearance on the reserve's territory and near settlements requires local residents to observe precautionary measures.

The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources had previously reported on wildlife observation work in the region. The ministry emphasized that such encounters are recorded as part of studying the state of natural ecosystems.

While observing the bear, the specialists did not influence it and did not interfere. This complies with safety requirements for studying wildlife.

Research work in the reserve continues. Specialists note that during wildlife observations and studies of the state of ecosystems, encounters with various animals are possible.
