Kazakhstan's national team won a bronze medal at the taekwondo Grand Prix series tournament held in Paris, the capital of France. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The Sports Development Directorate of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported that Kazakh athlete Maria Sevostyanova, competing in the women's up to 57 kg weight category, took third place.

Path to the medal

In her first bout, Sevostyanova defeated Wei Chun Lin of Taipei with a score of 2:0. She then overcame Hungarian athlete Luka Patakfalvi.

In the bout for a place in the semifinal, Sevostyanova defeated Madina Marabzolova of Uzbekistan with a score of 2:0. However, in the semifinal, the Kazakh athlete lost to the reigning world champion Maria Clara Pacheco of Brazil with a score of 0:2.

Final stage in Astana

The final stage of this season's Grand Prix will take place in November in Astana.
