By decree of the head of state, Marat Azilkhanov has been dismissed from his positions in the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan. Marat Azilkhanov served as deputy chairman of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan and head of the secretariat of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan under the administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Recall that starting July 1, due to the entry into force of the new Constitution, the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan is being dissolved. Its functions will now be transferred to the People's Council. The People's Council will have the status of the highest advisory body of the country. Meetings will be held at least once a year. It will consist of 126 people: 42 from ethnocultural associations, 42 from major public associations, 42 from maslikhats and regional public councils. All members of the Council are appointed by the president, and the chairman is elected by its members.
