President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has dismissed Marat Azilkhanov from the post of Deputy Chairman of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan (APK). This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

"By order of the Head of State, Marat Almasovich Azilkhanov was relieved of his position as Deputy Chairman of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan and Head of the Secretariat of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan," the statement said.

Marat Azilkhanov was born on January 3, 1965, in the city of Kazalinsk, Kyzylorda region.

In 1988, he graduated from Karaganda State Medical Institute, in 2000 from the Academy of the National Security Committee (KNB), and in 2019 from L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University.

He began his career as a doctor at the city hospital in Kyzylorda. From 1992 to 2011, he served in the KNB of Kazakhstan. He was Deputy Chairman of the Agency for Religious Affairs and later headed the agency. He worked as Vice Minister of Culture and Sports, as well as Vice Minister of Information and Social Development. Since 2021, he served as Deputy Chairman of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan and Head of the Secretariat of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan under the Presidential Administration.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that Erlan Karin became the First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration.
