A bus hit an employee of JSC Mangistaumunaigaz on the Aktau-Kalamkas highway in the Mangistau region. The man died. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The accident occurred on November 6 at around 11:30 at the 170–171st kilometer of the highway, near a bus stop. According to preliminary data, a Daewoo shift bus heading toward the Karazhanbas field hit a worker who was crossing the road.
Mangistaumunaigaz confirmed the death of its employee.
"We express our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased," the company said.
The regional police department said a criminal case was opened over the accident. The bus was placed in a specialized impound lot.
"Necessary investigative actions are currently being carried out, the circumstances of the incident are being established. The police department urges all road users to strictly observe traffic rules," the department said in a statement.
