Emergency services in Mangystau are operating in an enhanced mode due to the disappearance of three Kazakh citizens who drove to the Beket-Ata mosque in a Great Wall SUV and then stopped communicating. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Lada.kz.
According to the publication, the missing are 34-year-old Kanatbek Zhubatkanov, 31-year-old Akmaral Bissenova and 20-year-old Markhabat Bissenova.
They last made contact on the afternoon of July 2, sending a video from the holy site, after which they vanished without a trace.
The search involves police, emergency department rescuers, inspectors from Okhotzooprom, and even aviation. Local volunteers are asking residents to help survey the area using drones.
"Helicopters, special equipment and necessary gear are being used in the search operations. The search is being conducted simultaneously in several directions, involving the maximum number of forces and resources," the regional police department reported.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that a 57-year-old man went missing in the Markakol district of East Kazakhstan region. It turned out that the man had ridden a horse from a farm to graze cattle and did not return at the appointed time, after which a large-scale search operation was organized that lasted all night. The missing man was eventually found in the steppe between two villages.
Previously, it was reported that in Kostanay, police and volunteers searched for more than a week for 17-year-old Vladimir Orel, who disappeared on March 17. The young man left the dormitory of an industrial college and did not return. On March 28, the regional police department reported that his body had been found.
