A farewell ceremony for servicemen who died while performing their military duty was held in the Mangystau region, the regional akimat's press service reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The mourning ceremony was attended by regional akim Nurdaulet Kilybay, Defense Minister Dauren Kosanov, Supreme Mufti Nauryzbai kazhy Taganuly, as well as well-known public figures and citizens who served alongside the deceased.
Participants in the ceremony expressed condolences to the relatives and loved ones of the fallen soldiers, sharing their irreparable grief.
In memory of the defenders of the Fatherland, the Quran was recited and memorial rites were performed.
"In accordance with the instruction of the head of state, the families of the deceased servicemen are being provided with state social payments, material support and comprehensive assistance necessary for organizing funeral and memorial rites," the statement said.
Earlier, a special fund was designated by the Mangystau regional akimat to collect funds.
All collected funds are directed to the families of the deceased servicemen and the affected in a targeted and transparent manner, under strict control of state and law enforcement agencies.
Recall that during military exercises in the Caspian Sea, due to a sharp deterioration in weather, 17 servicemen went into the sea, 14 of them died, three were rescued.
