On the evening of August 7, a fire broke out at the oil delivery point of the Kulzhan field in Mangistau region. The fire was extinguished in time, as reported by the regional ecology department. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to preliminary data, the fire occurred on the cementing unit TsA-320 during internal cleaning of bottom sediments of tank RVS No. 2 with a volume of 2 thousand m³. At the time of work, tank RVS No. 2 was empty, there was no oil in it.
"As a result of the incident, there are no casualties. The fire was localized at 19:20 and completely extinguished at 20:00. Currently, the facility operates normally. According to preliminary data, no significant material damage was detected," the department noted.
The emergency department of Mangistau region and the state labor inspectorate were informed about the incident.
The final cause of the fire, the amount of possible material damage and legal assessment will be determined based on the results of the facility inspection and checks.
"No oil spill beyond the process equipment and the facility's territory was allowed," the ecology department summarized.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that nine steppe fires were extinguished in Akmola region.
