Livestock have died in the village of Tupkaragan, Mangystau region. A video circulating on social media shows carcasses of cattle. The video's author counts the dead horses and says, "Four horses lie here. It's impossible to stand because of the smell." This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The video shows the village of Akshukur. Overall, there is a fact of livestock death in the district, mostly horses. The akimat of Tupkaragan district stated that the horse carcasses have been disposed of. "Specialists of the district veterinary station have been providing free injections upon requests from livestock owners. No official applications regarding dead livestock have been received. 2-3 days ago, the 'Taza Tupkaragan' institution cleaned up about 20 livestock carcasses near the village of Sayyn and the city of Fort-Shevchenko," the akimat said.
According to the agency, the cattle suffered from karakurt spider bites. Number of dead livestock: - In Taushyk village: 314 animals fell ill: 185 horses, 125 camels, 4 sheep. Dead: 30 horses and 15 camels; - In Fort-Shevchenko: dead: 11 horses, 1 foal, 3 camels; - In Akshukur village: ill: 25 horses, 10 foals, 1 cow, 15 camels. Dead: 3 horses, 1 cow, 6 foals, 1 yearling, 1 camel; - In Sayyn Shapagatov village: recovered: 88 horses and foals. 11 foals are ill, 17 camels recovered. Dead: 3 horses, 10 foals, 5 camels. - In Bautino and Kyzylozen villages, livestock are safe.
Currently, all carcasses have been completely disposed of, the akimat said.
