A government commission has been established in the Mangystau region to investigate the causes of the deaths of military personnel. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
By order of the Prime Minister, a government commission has been created to investigate the causes of the deaths of military personnel during military exercises in the Mangystau region.
"The commission includes the Minister of Defense, the akim of the Mangystau region, the leadership of the Ministries of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, Emergency Situations, Health, Transport, the Chief Military Prosecutor, as well as representatives of the border service," the Government reported.
Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov instructed the chairman of the commission, Kanat Bozymbayev, to urgently travel to the scene, ensure an investigation into the causes of the deaths of the military personnel, and take measures to provide necessary assistance to the families of the deceased.
Recall that in the Mangystau region, an emergency occurred during exercises, and 9 people died.
According to preliminary data, on September 24, due to a sharp deterioration in weather and increased wind, a wave swept away 19 military personnel in the Caspian Sea.
Currently, 9 of them have been confirmed dead.
Three military personnel were rescued, one of whom was hospitalized.
The search for the others is ongoing.
