In Mangystau region, it was found that over 200 men underwent plastic surgeries intended for women. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
During an inspection by the regional health department, it was established that between 2023 and 2025, 207 men received plastic surgeries intended for women. Most of the surgeries were mammoplasty (breast implant placement) and liposuction.
According to department specialists, the surgeries were performed in private medical centers. However, there were no medical indications for these operations. Performing such surgeries on men contradicts the legislation of Kazakhstan.
Currently, the regional prosecutor's office has initiated a criminal case regarding this fact. The investigation will identify the doctors and medical institutions that performed the surgeries.
The Ministry of Health announced that it will conduct a nationwide inspection in connection with this situation. According to ministry representatives, additional measures will be taken to prevent such violations.
Residents of Mangystau region reacted with surprise to this news. Some experts believe that this situation indicates weak control in the field of plastic surgery.
The regional health department recommends that citizens undergo plastic surgeries only in licensed medical facilities and after consulting a doctor.
