The feed procurement campaign in the country has been completed, with over 43 million tonnes collected across all types. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, planned targets for the procurement of the four main types of feed have been exceeded. This creates a solid foundation for providing livestock structures with the necessary feed during the upcoming winter period.

Volumes of procured feed

Farmers have prepared:

  • 0127 million tonnes of hay — 105.2% of the plan;
  • 022.4 million tonnes of haylage — 103.9% of the plan;
  • 032.9 million tonnes of silage — 105.3% of the plan;
  • 044.9 million tonnes of straw — 103.5% of the plan;
  • 055.7 million tonnes of concentrated feed — 100.3% of the plan.

In addition, 3.6 million tonnes of feed left over from last winter will be used as an additional resource.

Additional fodder grain reserve

Also, to further provide agricultural producers with fodder grain, the Food Contract Corporation JSC has prepared a reserve of 200 thousand tonnes of fodder grain.

«If necessary, this grain will be directed to the needs of livestock and poultry farming, including covering demand during the off-season period,» the ministry says.

Thus, this year's feed procurement campaign has exceeded planned targets, and the necessary feed reserve for wintering livestock has been fully formed.
