The Food Contract Corporation has increased the volume of financing for oilseeds by 2.6 times. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, compared with the previous agricultural season, the volume of financing for oilseeds increased 2.6 times – from 36 thousand tons to 95 thousand tons.
In total, after the autumn harvesting campaign, agricultural producers will deliver 479.8 thousand tons of grain and oilseed products to the resources of the national grain operator. Of these, 337.3 thousand tons, or about 70%, will be wheat. The remaining volume consists of high-margin crops – oil flax, barley, sunflower, rapeseed, and corn.
According to ministry specialists, during the 2026 sowing campaign, agricultural producers significantly increased the area under sunflower. If in the previous agricultural season, within the framework of forward contracts, financing was allocated for the purchase of 19.9 thousand tons of sunflower seeds, this year the volume of contracted products almost doubled and reached 37.8 thousand tons.
