A memorial plaque honoring RIA Novosti war correspondent and Order of Courage recipient Ivan Zuev has been installed in Moscow at the Rossiya Segodnya media group building. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Dmitry Kiselyov, the media group's director general, thanked those gathered for the plaque unveiling ceremony and noted their professional and personal solidarity. Kiselyov emphasized that Zuev died heroically.
"Some are destined for the highest form of professional and civic self-realization — to make a true sacrifice of themselves. Vanya was destined for such an honor, and so his life acquired the highest meaning," Kiselyov said.
According to him, Ivan Zuev was a brave, talented and courageous journalist.
