Two passenger trains collided north of London near Bedford on Friday, killing at least one person and injuring dozens. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Associated Press.

The incident occurred around 5:15 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2026. Both trains were traveling to London St. Pancras station. The trains from Corby and Nottingham collided south of the town of Bedford. A passenger reported being thrown forward by the impact and then seeing fellow travelers with broken bones and bloody injuries.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, deploying an air ambulance and a hazardous incident team from the East of England Ambulance Service. Police said in a statement: "We know that a number of people have been injured and one person has very sadly died. A major incident."

According to rail tracking websites, both trains were heading to London. Rescue operations are ongoing.
