Argentine footballer Lionel Messi has announced his retirement from the national team. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
"It was not easy for me to make this decision. However, I understand that the time has come to end my career," the footballer wrote on his social media page.
Lionel Messi is 39 years old. He is the only player in football history to have won the Golden Ball award eight times.
