Leber has been supplying children's play and sports equipment to Kazakhstan since 2020. The first projects were one-off, but since 2023 the company has begun systematically developing its work in the local market — through cooperation with a dealer, projects for developers and participation in urban improvement. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Adaptation to residential complex architecture
One of Leber's areas of work in Kazakhstan is adapting equipment to the architecture of residential complexes and public spaces. A striking example is a customized children's playground in Astana. The designer approached the manufacturer with the task of selecting equipment that would match the visual style of a new residential complex and would not become a random bright spot in the courtyard.
The solution was found through an individual color scheme. For HPL elements, customers can choose shades from a wide palette, while 20 colors are available for metal structures. Wooden parts can also be tinted, although the company recommends preserving the natural texture of the material where possible: it adds warmth to the space and goes well with landscaping.
This approach allows serial models to be used as a basis and then adapted to a specific site without redesigning the entire complex from scratch. For a developer, this is an opportunity to link the playground with the architecture of the buildings, facades, landscaping and the overall color concept of the territory. At the same time, the basic characteristics of the equipment and the production logic remain predictable.
Customization requires additional design and production stages, but it is becoming increasingly in demand in residential projects. The children's playground has long ceased to be perceived as a set of structures installed on the remaining plot of the courtyard. It influences residents' routes, the view from windows, the nature of landscaping and even how neighbors get to know each other. A well-designed space does not argue with architecture but continues it at human height.
Projects in public spaces
The company also works with public areas in Kazakhstan. Thus, as part of the program to improve landmark urban sites, three play complexes — Beryllium, Francium and Krypton — appeared next to the Kazakh National Academy of Music. Their names recall a scientific theme, while the structures themselves create several scenarios for play and movement in a single space.
The company develops its local direction together with a Kazakh dealer. Leber representatives visit sites, study construction projects in Astana and discuss work with developers and government customers with partners. Special attention is paid to the warehouse program: the active construction season in Kazakhstan begins in summer, so the availability of equipment and pre-calculated volumes directly affect installation timelines.
Made in Russia certificate
Leber has a voluntary Made in Russia certificate. It was obtained as part of the program to promote products under the national brand, implemented by the Russian Export Center. In foreign projects, such a mark perfectly complements visual evidence: installed playgrounds, production expertise, the ability to change color and configuration, as well as the work of the local dealer. The national brand helps make this experience more visible to architects, developers and city customers in Kazakhstan.
Kazakhstan remains one of the actively developing construction markets in the region. New residential blocks and improvement projects create demand for solutions that take into account architecture, future usage scenarios and the requirements of a specific customer. Balance is especially important here: a fully individual site gives freedom but requires more time; a serial one is convenient in production but does not always fit the character of the place.
Leber's work in the country is built between these poles. The serial base maintains predictability in terms of timelines and characteristics, while customization allows equipment to be tailored to a residential complex, park or urban area. It is similar to a good city suit: the cut is already verified, but the color, details and fit are chosen for a specific place.
Global geography
In addition to Kazakhstan, the Russian company's play and sports playgrounds have been installed in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, Morocco, Singapore, Brazil, Serbia, Mongolia, Uzbekistan and Armenia. The Kazakh experience occupies a special place in this geography: here the company has gone from one-off supplies to ongoing work with local partners and projects in which the children's playground becomes a full-fledged part of architecture.
