Icelandic singer-songwriter Laufey has described how she created her annual global fan event, 'A Very Laufey Day.' This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Associated Press.

In 2023, ahead of the release of her second album 'Bewitched,' Laufey decided to organize a global event to get her fans out of their homes and follow an itinerary of her perfect day, with music from the album accompanying it.

'I wanted to find a way to get my fans out of their homes, and to really follow an itinerary of my perfect idea of a day and have the music from "Bewitched" follow it,' she said.

Thus, 'A Very Laufey Day' was born. Each year, the Grammy-winning singer curates itineraries for different locations around the globe where she has been and loved. It allows fans to live what she calls 'a perfect day' and connect with their community offline.

'It became much bigger than I anticipated, really,' she admits. She sought to inspire her audience to find 'third spaces' like museums, bookstores, cafes, concerts, and foster community. Each year, it has grown, with fans dressing in vintage Laufey-themed fashions to celebrate the unofficial holiday.

The fourth annual 'A Very Laufey Day' will take place on Aug. 23. This year, it will include experiences in 75 cities across 25 countries, centered on the theme 'A Celebration of the Arts.'

These include performances spanning symphony orchestras, ballet, jazz, opera, and theater, as well as events with libraries, bookstores, coffee shops, and yogurt/ice cream shops.

'It is a fun puzzle every year,' Laufey says.
