Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has denied that Russia is waging a covert hybrid war against European countries. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Lavrov made the statement in an interview with a Western journalist at the Valdai Discussion Club. In his opinion, it is actually Europe that is waging war against Russia.
"Including through the supply of weapons to Ukraine, specifically drones and missiles, strikes are being carried out against Russian territory," he said.
According to Lavrov, the Russian side is only shooting down such weapons. As for accusations that Moscow has used "brute force," Lavrov suggested that Western countries first pay attention to their own actions.
In particular, he cited the events in Venezuela and the situation regarding the explosions of the Nord Stream gas pipelines as examples.
