Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is speaking at the UN Security Council meeting on the situation in Ukraine under the topic "Maintenance of peace and security in Ukraine." This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Lavrov is participating on behalf of Russia within the high-level week of the UN General Assembly. During the UN event, he also met with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Since many heads of state and ministers are attending the high-level week, their participation in the Security Council meeting is also possible.
The general debates of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly began in New York on September 22 and will continue until September 28.
In addition, Lavrov stated that the information war against Russia began after Moscow transitioned to an independent policy.
