Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, speaking at a press conference following the plenary session of the IV Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security, stated that Western representatives do not want any dialogue on Eurasian issues. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to Lavrov, the West's plan to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia in Ukraine through the Kyiv regime has failed. "Now they simply do not want to lose face and are having difficulties accepting the new reality," the minister said.

Lavrov also noted that the West does not want dialogue on Eurasian issues for now, but seeks a balance of interests so that every person living in Eurasia feels protected and has incentives for development. "They do not want any dialogue on Eurasian issues yet," he added.

According to the minister, the West wants to establish its own order across the entire Eurasian continent, including its eastern part.

Russia's position

Sergey Lavrov stated that Russia is not planning any war with Europe, but if Europe itself prepares for war and starts one, Russia is ready for such a war, and it will be different and very short.

He also noted that the West is striving to expand in the Arctic, where the Western European Union has formed a militaristic strategy of confrontation.

Russia calls on everyone to join the work on the Eurasian Charter. Russia is also constantly working to promote the initiative to form a broader Eurasian partnership through the establishment of continental connections.

Speaking about a new security system, Russia does not propose participating in a new arms race. Russia is ready to consider both simple agreements on the non-use of force as a basis for equal security with the West and detailed documents on joint security measures.

Russia and the United States continue contacts on the exchange of counterterrorism data. Lavrov stated that the Kyiv regime is not taking steps to repeal laws on the Russian language.
