The Church of Saint Agnes in St. Paul, Minnesota, offers an alternative approach to the Latin Mass amid a crisis in the Catholic Church. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Associated Press.

The pastor, Rev. John Ubel, celebrated a Latin Mass on Sunday, June 28, 2026. He wore traditional biretta hat and vestments, and faced the altar during the Eucharistic prayer. In his homily, Ubel urged faithfulness to both tradition and the Vatican.

The church, built in the early 20th century for German-speaking immigrants, now offers Masses in Latin and English in a diverse inner-city neighborhood. The faithful receive communion on the tongue and while kneeling at the altar rails, following traditional customs.
