Chairman of the Kurultai Aibek Dadebai outlined the main directions of legislative work for the upcoming period, the press service of the Kurultai reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Key priorities

One of the primary tasks will be the inventory of current legislation and its alignment with the new Constitution. This work will be included in the plans of relevant committees along with presidential instructions and issues of the socio-economic and socio-political agenda.

According to Dadebai, deputies will have to work on legislation in the field of artificial intelligence and digital assets, migration policy, support for children with special needs, energy sustainability and alternative energy, as well as regulation of online platforms and mass media.

Upcoming agenda

The upcoming agenda will also include issues of library development and book publishing, as well as legislative formalization of new state awards — the medal "Shamshi Kaldayakov" and the honorary title "Honored Artist of Kazakhstan".

A separate area will be the consideration of the republican budget for the next three years.

Dadebai also stated the need to increase the effectiveness of parliamentary control, ensure constant communication between deputies and the population, and promptly implement the "E-Parliament" system.

Kurultai Regulations

At the Bureau meeting, the preparation of the draft Regulations of the Kurultai was also discussed. Committees and factions were instructed to submit proposals in the near future, taking into account new approaches to the work of deputies and improvement of the legislative process. The document is planned to be submitted to the next Bureau meeting.

In addition, the deputy chairmen of the Kurultai were assigned supervision over standing committees.

Earlier, Kursiv wrote that the Kurultai deputies approved the appointment of Erlan Karin as Vice President of Kazakhstan. The candidacy was submitted by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and supported by the majority of deputies.
