The Kurultai will review the draft republican budget for 2027-2029 in its first reading. The document envisages average annual GDP growth of 5.4% and a reduction of inflation to 6% by the end of this period. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The agenda of the upcoming meeting was determined on October 9 at a Bureau meeting chaired by Speaker Aibek Dadebay.
Main directions of the budget draft
The budget draft is aimed at maintaining macroeconomic stability, fulfilling all social obligations and advancing infrastructure development.
In 2027, the target corridor for annual inflation is set at 7.5-9.5%. By 2029, it is planned to reduce it to 6%, and to cut the republican budget deficit to 0.4% of GDP, or 1 trillion tenge. The budget's own revenues are expected to increase to 23.4 trillion tenge by that time.
The main expenditure directions in 2027 are designated as investments in human capital, support for the regions and the real sector of the economy.
Amendments to the law on state awards
Deputies will also review in the second reading amendments to the law "On State Awards of the Republic of Kazakhstan". They were initiated by Kurultai deputies in fulfillment of the president's instruction.
The bill provides for the introduction of two new distinctions in musical and visual arts — the "Shamshi Kaldayakov" medal and the honorary title "Honored Artist of Kazakhstan".
