Social media has been circulating posts claiming that mothers who work as couriers in Kazakhstan are planned to be deprived of social benefits. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population stated that this information is not true. According to the ministry, non-working parents caring for a child receive a state social benefit from the republican budget until the child reaches the age of one and a half years.
These benefits are unconditional and are paid in full until the child turns one and a half, regardless of the recipient's subsequent employment. In turn, participants in the compulsory social insurance system, i.e., parents with permanent jobs, are assigned social payments from the State Social Insurance Fund in case of loss of income due to childcare until the child reaches one and a half years.
The amount of this payment is 40% of the average monthly income for the last two years before the child's birth.
"According to the norms of the Social Code of Kazakhstan, termination of these payments due to going to work is carried out only on the basis of a voluntary application by the recipient," the ministry's statement said.
The ministry urges citizens to rely only on official explanations from authorized state bodies. In case of any questions, they recommend contacting the relevant departments directly for clarification.
