Former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said Ukraine had the opportunity to conclude a peace agreement with Russia in late 2022. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

"Now there is talk that at the end of 2022 there was an opportunity to reach an agreement with Russia. By the way, I also agree, at that time it was possible to try to reach an agreement," Kuleba said in an interview with Ukrainska Pravda.

According to him, at that time the situation at the front began to change in an unfavorable direction for Ukraine. However, in Ukrainian society, faith in returning the country's territory to its 1991 borders and hope for victory intensified, which hindered peace negotiations.

Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Vadym Novinsky said on October 22 that President Volodymyr Zelensky in the spring of 2022 was ready to accept the main demands of the Russian side to settle the conflict.
