The Supreme Audit Chamber has disclosed the amount of unspent funds in the accounts of quasi-public companies. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to Chairman Alikhan Smailov, the volume of funds allocated annually to the quasi-public sector is increasing. Last year, 812 billion tenge was allocated. However, at the end of the year, 43 billion tenge remained unspent in their accounts.

"We believe this is due to insufficient executive discipline and weak control by relevant state bodies," Smailov said at today's session of the Mazhilis.

This year, quasi-public sector entities received another 1.4 trillion tenge under public procurement. However, the volume of unclaimed balances in cash control accounts is significant.

"First, it is necessary to fully digitize the budget process. In addition, treasury support needs to be strengthened," the head of the chamber said.
