Tips for planting fall flowers to brighten the garden when summer blooms fade. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Associated Press.
When summer flowers in the garden wither and autumn arrives, they can be replaced with fall flowers. Expert Jessica Damiano shared tips on flowers for the fall garden.
According to her, pansies are the best choice for a fall garden. Their orange, purple, and yellow colors will brighten any garden. Pansies planted in the fall will bloom again in spring because they cannot tolerate summer heat but are cold-hardy.
She also recommends Sedum Autumn Joy. This perennial grows in zones 3-9. Its flowers are green in spring, gradually take on a pinkish hue in summer, and turn maroon in fall.
Fall chrysanthemums are also an excellent choice. Their orange, rust, bronze, yellow, pink, purple, or white flowers will adorn the garden. Plant them in the fall, and they will return year after year.
Damiano shared her experience: the summer annuals in the hanging planter on her porch had dried up. She replaced them with impatiens, but with September approaching, she plans to refresh it.
When planning a fall garden, it is recommended to replace summer flowers with fall flowers. This will give the garden new life.
