According to ministry specialists, special attention was paid to creating a barrier-free environment. The stations are equipped with ramps, elevators, adapted entrance areas and sanitary facilities, tactile strips and special ticket office areas. Depending on the category of the facility, mother and child rooms, medical stations, storage rooms are provided, and interior spaces have been redesigned to efficiently organize passenger flow.

Passenger platforms, station squares and engineering infrastructure have also been updated.

It is worth noting that the majority of railway stations in Kazakhstan were built in the 1950s-1970s, and some have been in operation for more than 80-100 years. Many have not undergone major repairs for decades.
