The Solar Astronomy Laboratory of IKI reported that numerous plasma ejections into space are being recorded on the Sun. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Scientists note that the star's activity has sharply increased. The Sun is ejecting energy from the left (eastern) edge. Apparently, the sources of the explosions are located beyond the edge, on the far side of the Sun, and are still hidden from observation from Earth. The European Solar Orbiter spacecraft is on the side of the orbit close to Earth, so it also cannot provide scientists with any information.
"From the current position, solar material is not yet capable of reaching Earth. To create risks for the planet, the activity must persist for another 4-5 days. During this period, the hidden active regions responsible for the explosions should appear on the visible side of the Sun and approach the Sun-Earth line," the scientists note.
A preliminary understanding of the situation can be obtained in 1-2 days, when the sunspots, presumably located beyond the edge, cross the horizon line and become available for observation. This will allow specialists to assess their size and possible energy reserves.
