In the first round of the 2026 World Cup, Portugal drew with DR Congo 1-1. The 41-year-old forward started the match and played the full 90 minutes.

According to Championat, Ronaldo had 25 touches in the match against DR Congo at the 2026 World Cup. This is his lowest number of touches in major tournament matches for Portugal when he has played the full 90 minutes.

The 2026 World Cup is Ronaldo's sixth in his career. In the next rounds, Portugal will face Uzbekistan and Colombia.
