Police in Akmola Region are investigating the possible embezzlement of nearly 25 million tenge from an enterprise in the city of Kosshy. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to the regional police department, the money disappeared from the LLP's accounts from 2023 to 2025. Investigators believe the funds were embezzled and then transferred to accounts of a third-party organization.

Police have opened a criminal case. Investigators are currently examining the company's financial documents, tracking money flows, and have ordered necessary forensic examinations.

"Individuals whose involvement in the crime is being verified within the framework of the pre-trial investigation have been identified," police reported.

The department stated its intention to clarify all circumstances of the incident.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that an accountant from the education department in West Kazakhstan Region embezzled over 9 million tenge of budget funds. The woman was found guilty and sentenced to 2.5 years of restricted freedom. The stolen money was returned to the budget.
