The city of Konstantinovka has come under full Russian control, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
"The main news is that Konstantinovka has been fully taken," Peskov told RIA Novosti. According to him, plans are being made to create a security zone in the Kharkiv and Sumy regions.
Since the beginning of the year, 133 settlements have come under Russian control. Commanders of assault units reported to the Russian president on the situation in Konstantinovka and showed footage taken by drones. Putin discussed summer goals and active offensive operations with the military.
Konstantinovka is located 55 km from Donetsk. It plays an important role in supplying the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kramatorsk-Slaviansk agglomeration, as it hosts a major railway transit hub.
