The Ministry of Health of Congo reported that the number of cases of Ebola fever has reached 5,515. Over the past day, 51 new cases were detected. The number of deaths is 2,642. The fatality rate is 47.9%. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Doctors also reported that more than 700 people suspected of having Ebola are in hospitals and medical isolation facilities. The level of contact tracing for Ebola patients is 85.5%.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that 5,021 cases were registered in Congo, with the death toll reaching 2,378 people.
Recall that the outbreak of Ebola fever in the Democratic Republic of Congo became known in mid-May, when a state of emergency was declared in the country. The cause is a rare strain called Bundibugyo.
