The information appeared on the abv_novosti account on Threads. According to the post, the foreign woman claims that at the police station she was forced to write a statement under dictation.
According to her, police officers subsequently surveilled the apartment and removed the window screen to seize possible physical evidence. The message also says that the woman is afraid to leave the house, although she needs medical assistance.
Police confirmed that a criminal case was opened. Two men whom the woman named in her statement have been detained.
"During the initial investigative and operational-search measures, two men named in the statement were identified, detained and brought in. All arguments and circumstances of the incident will be thoroughly checked and receive an appropriate legal assessment," the police department said.
The investigation has been assigned to the investigative department of the Almaty region police department. Investigative and operational-search measures are being carried out. The department does not disclose other information in the interests of the investigation.
