A four-year-old girl was seriously injured in a kindergarten in Kosshy, Akmola Region, after being hit with a children's chair by peers, according to her mother. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The child's mother, Altynai Bekem, said that after the incident at the preschool, her daughter, who had been a healthy child, suffered severe injuries and became disabled.

According to the woman, on the day of the incident, the teacher left the group unattended for about 20 minutes. During that time, other children hit the girl on the head several times with a children's chair.

The child is now under constant medical supervision and must take special medications. The parents claim that without medication, the girl experiences epileptic seizures.

The kindergarten administration confirmed that the teacher was not in the group during the incident. According to the institution, the teacher and the head of the kindergarten received a strict reprimand, but both continue to work.

The victim's parents have repeatedly contacted law enforcement authorities demanding that those responsible be held accountable. Initially, the investigation was closed due to lack of corpus delicti, but after repeated appeals from the family, the case was reopened.

The police department of Akmola Region confirmed that a pre-trial investigation into the incident at the kindergarten is ongoing. Necessary investigative actions are being carried out.

It remains unclear whether the investigation will lead to a trial. The family is focused on treating the girl. The child's father had to quit his job to help his wife care for their daughter.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that an inspection was launched at the private kindergarten "Igilik" in Pavlodar after the publication of surveillance camera footage that, according to parents, showed rough treatment of children by educators.
