Press Secretary of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aibek Smadiyarov reported that the head of state Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is closely monitoring the course of the World Nomad Games, at the opening ceremony of which he attended together with leaders of several countries. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Through the Minister of Tourism and Sports Yerbol Myrzabosynov, the President conveyed greetings and best wishes for further victories to the participants of the Games from Kazakhstan, which are taking place in an atmosphere of friendship and fairness.

The head of state thanked the coaches and champions, and also promised to reward all those who, through their hard work, contributed to the overall success of our national team.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that the Kazakhstan team continued to win awards at the VI World Nomad Games in Kyrgyzstan.

Key Indicators of the Games

The VI World Nomad Games are taking place in Kyrgyzstan from August 31 to September 6. Kazakhstan is represented by a team of 152 athletes registered in 42 sports.

According to interim results, the Kazakhstan team ranks first in the overall medal standings.

As of September 4, Kazakhstani athletes have won 55 awards: 25 gold, 13 silver, and 17 bronze medals.

In second place is the Kyrgyzstan team with 58 medals — 23 gold, 24 silver, and 11 bronze. The third spot is held by the Russian team, which has won 4 gold, 6 silver, and 13 bronze awards.

Achievements of Kazakhstani Athletes

To date, representatives of Kazakhstan have competed in 31 of the 42 sports included in the Games program. Medals have been won in audaryspak, Kazakh kuresi, alysh, arm wrestling, sambo, tug of war, traditional archery, horse racing, hunting with birds of prey, and other disciplines.

The competitions continue, so the position of teams in the medal standings may still change. Kazakhstani athletes still have to compete in 11 sports.

The VI World Nomad Games are attended by about 3,000 athletes from 113 countries.
