The Ministry of Transport has urged drivers to take adverse weather conditions on the roads into account. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the ministry, in the coming days, due to the passage of atmospheric fronts, unfavorable weather is forecast in the northern and central regions of the country.
"Rain mixed with snow and snow are expected, air temperatures will drop, winds will strengthen, and visibility may deteriorate," the ministry warned.
Adverse weather may affect both national highways and the situation on local roads.
"In such conditions, the road situation can change within a day. When temperatures drop, wet road surfaces may become slippery, while precipitation and fog reduce visibility. In this regard, it is important for drivers to choose a safe speed, keep their distance and avoid sudden maneuvers," specialists say.
The Ministry of Transport recommends before every trip:
- 01familiarizing yourself in advance with the weather forecast and the condition of roads along the route;
- 02planning travel time taking weather conditions into account;
- 03observing the established speed limit and safe distance;
- 04being especially careful on bridges, road crossings and open sections;
- 05postponing the trip if possible when the weather sharply deteriorates.
Information on the condition of national highways can be obtained from the round-the-clock KazAvtoZhol call center at 1403.
